Basic Facts about Windshields
- All winshields are made with two pieces of glass with a layer of plastic laminated between the layers. If a crack spreads across your windshield, it won’t fall in on your lap.
- All repairable rock chips are on the OUTSIDE LAYER of glass, if the inside layer is broken, it’s un-repairable
- - GlasWelder can perform repairs anywhere on your windshield, including at the edge, or in front of the driver’s view.

Do's and Dont's
- Do call 707-442-4527 to schedule a repair A.S.A.P.
- Don’t Panic! If it hasn’t spread right away, chances are good a repair can be done before it cracks.
- Do check with your insurance company to see if they will waive your deductible and fix it for free.
- Don’t WASH IT! It will introduce moisture, detergent and/or other contaminants.
- Don’t try to repair it yourself, or put anything on it.
- Don’t subject it to any drastic temperature changes. A hot defroster on a cold windshield, or cold water on a hot windshield can cause it to crack.
- Don’t wait!! A rock chip can spread into a crack overnight!
